Mastering Ethical Networking: How to Avoid Cross-Recruiting

Have you ever been approached by someone from a different company, urging you to join their team? Or perhaps you’ve been tempted to invite members of other networks into your teams? If so, you’re entering the realm of cross-recruiting, a practice that walks a fine line between opportunity and ethical misstep. In this article, we’ll explore the do’s and don’ts of cross-recruiting, share examples and shed light on the Rules of Conduct!

Cross-Recruiting: What Is It?

Cross-recruiting happens when someone from one business tries to bring members from another business into their team. For example, a Healy World member reaches out and asks you to join the business opportunity of another direct-selling company—even when you are already committed to Healy World.

Let’s paint a picture: you’re a devoted member of Healy World, fully engaged in your team’s growth. Suddenly, a fellow Healy World member, Bob, approaches you. He suggests that you explore a different direct-selling company that he’s just joined. Bob’s approach falls under the realm of cross-recruiting.

It’s essential to remember that our members may only exclusively promote Healy World’s business opportunities within their networks.

Thus, please always refrain from promoting the business opportunities of other direct-selling companies within our community. We understand that sometimes it might get confusing, but it’s essential for maintaining a fair and supportive environment for everyone involved. Rest assured that we have clear procedures in place, as outlined in our Rules of Conduct, to address such situations.

If you ever happen to come across an incident where this rule is being disregarded or have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at Compliance@healy.world. We’re here to help, and your feedback is valuable!

Cross-Recruiting Within Healy World

Cross-recruiting isn’t limited to outside companies; it can also occur within Healy World. This situation could arise when a Healy World member approaches you to join their team, even if you’re already part of another Healy World downline. We all know, that building successful teams relies heavily on personal relationships, trust, and loyalty.

When cross-recruiting happens within the Healy World community, it can disrupt the trust between sponsors and members, making it challenging to create a fair and uplifting market for everyone involved. For this reason, cross-recruiting is not allowed.

To approach new members or customers ethically, it’s essential to follow some simple steps. Imagine you come across someone who seems genuinely interested in Healy World products. In such a scenario, it’s crucial to handle the situation with care and respect for everyone involved. The best practice is to begin by asking them a couple of key questions:

  • “Are you a part of a Healy World team?”
  • “Has someone else introduced you to Healy World’s products?”

If the individual is not associated with a Healy World team and has no prior connection to another member, then you can proceed with sharing more information about Healy World.  However, if the person reveals that they are part of a different team or have been referred to Healy World by someone else, it’s best to acknowledge their existing relationship and show respect for their current sponsor.

Ensuring a fair market for everyone is the core of our values! Healy World reserves the right to correct sponsor errors at any time and in whatever manner it deems necessary.

DO:

  • Prioritize Respect: Always respect the existing affiliations of others. If someone is already part of a network, honor their choice and don’t attempt to divert them elsewhere.

DON’T:

  • Poach Members: Approaching members of other networks to join your team is akin to poaching and is widely considered unethical.
  • Undermine Trust: Cross-recruiting can undermine the trust that forms the foundation of any network. Existing members may feel betrayed and this can hinder the growth of your own network in the long run.
  • Disrupt the Community: Communities thrive on unity. Encouraging cross-recruiting disrupts this unity and can lead to conflicts within networks.

Cross-Recruiting members from other Direct Selling Companies

A common question that arises is, “Can I recruit members from other direct selling companies to Healy World?” The answer is generally no. In the direct selling industry, it’s imperative to understand the rules of the game to ensure fairness and respect among companies. If a member from Healy World solicits members from other direct selling companies, there’s a risk that the other company might take legal action against the person responsible for the solicitation or enticement.

Healy World will not cover any of the defense costs or legal fees, nor will Healy World indemnify the IHWM for any judgment, award, or settlement resulting from such actions. It’s essential to uphold ethical conduct and adhere to industry standards.
